Friday-Wellness-Tip:-Forgiveness-Heals-Hearts.jpegPINIMAGE

Dear Wellness Seekers,

Friday Wellness Tip: Forgiveness Heals Hearts is the third post in a themed series about Mid Summer Self Care, when life slows down with the rhythm of the to season take stock in oneself in a relaxed atmosphere.
On Wednesday we explored the Step 1; Healing Power of Prayer as a means of opening our heart to uncover the current dimensions of your inner life.
On Thursday we explored Step 2: Junk In Your Heart Summer Cleanup Time as the process of letting go of old baggage impeding our ability to live happily everyday.
Today, we are ready to explore the Gift of Forgiveness as the way to healing hearts and wellness.
READY TO EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF FORGIVENESS?

If you are keen to do Steps 1 & 2, you are ready to feel the Joy of Forgiveness too. Unity tells us just as the body needs oxygen to live, the soul needs love to thrive. When we harbor resentment toward people, we don’t stop the flow of love toward just them; We impede my own ability to give and receive love. That is heartbreaking!

We may be aware of anger and frustration surrounding the refusal to forgive. Other times, hurt and fear clog my heart and I don’t even know it.

Spirit guides us to practice forgiveness. Time to sweep away the junk – the debris of bitterness and resentment. We also release seemingly minor irritations that might have built up. As we let go, we see ourselves and others as One. Divine love flows freely through mind, body, and spirit. Body, mind and Heart revel in the Joy of Forgiveness.

Friday Wellness Tip: Forgiveness Heals Hearts is an important practice – it’s the balm we apply to wounds that heals us. We can feel the lightness of our hearts knowing Spirit flows freely with in us again enhancing emotional wellbeing.

Now we are ready to enjoy the rest of summer happy and whole with the ability to love ourselves and the important people in our lives. Spanista hopes you find this series useful – please let me know how you go with it.

Happy Friday!

To Your Self Care Journey To Joy,

Ginny

Junk-In-Your-Heart-Summer-Cleanup-Time.jpegPINIMAGE

Dear Wellness Seekers,

Junk In Your Heart Summer Cleanup Time is here. This is a totally spontaneous Spanista message I am compelled to open up a discussion on. Are you feeling like I am feeling come mid summer about a key topic? This time of year I cannot help but notice the escalation of THINGS in our lives. With Summer activities comes so many accoutrements –  Bikes,  beach bags, towels galore, swim gear, fishing gear, paddles boards, canoes, coolers, picnic baskets, outdoor patio gear, candle lanterns and on and on.

We have run out of garage space and in home storage space – after all how big can a home be. Now you know Spanista professes enjoying the change of seasons but there comes a point where we must stop the collection madness and get rid of the excess junk in our homes. Right? Right!

But as I was editing the junk from the jewels it occurred to me that this is also an opportunity to clean up the Junk in our Hearts! What junk you ask? Well upon some self examination time I discovered my heart is so full of emotional baggage or ‘junk’, I cannot even find my way to my soul!

So let’s look at this through a different lens shall we?

It takes the theme on creating Emotional Wellness from yesterday’s post a step further. Let’s ask ourselves what is the emotional junk we are carrying around in our hearts? Perhaps it’s a long harbored hurt by a friend who you have cut off from your life, a painful topic that goes unaddressed with you partner or a challenging relationship with a co-worker that is festering inside going unhealed?

Spanista suggests setting side time for Project Clean Up that you can do simultaneously before the end of July on two levels:

1. Summer Home Clean Up

2. Summer Heart Clean Up

Junk In Your Heart Summer Cleanup Time allows you to create a clean slate as the only way new good can arrive is if we clear out the old baggage. I can tell you from Spanista’s perspective after doing this i feel refreshed and lighter of heart – organizing things in life is worth the time and effort.

Hope you have the courage to set aside the time to do it? If you do let me know who you feel after you have completed the exercise.

To Your Self Care Journey To Joy,

Ginny

Dear Wellness Seekers,

Spanista Spotlights Healing Power of Prayer in todays world is a real actionable way to bring faith into your personal agenda. Not everyone believes in the spiritual realm – that is the belief in a higher power’s grace but Spanista does.
Why? Because for years I have engaged in the practice and find
I AM RENEWED BY THE HEALING POWER OF PRAYER.
It is on the strength of this life experience I want to share a Self Care Reflection exercise you may find helpful. As we find ourselves in summer and holiday mode over the next 6 weeks it is a good time to do an audit on ourselves. Living in our modern society calls for a 360 degree view of health. To get a good picture I suggest using the scale of 1 to 10 – low number equates to low need for attention – high numbers mean high need of attention:
1. How are you feeling emotionally?
2. How are you feeling physically?
3. How are you feeling spiritually?
Perhaps while taking a reflection walk this coming weekend consider these questions and flesh out the answers. Once you have a clear grasp of your  needs on these 3 questions it will help you set the right Self Care Agenda for the next 6 months ahead. Now pray in your own way for healing in the areas you feel you need.

Spanista Spotlight Healing Power of Prayer can not be denied. For thousands of years, healers have used the power of prayer to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. Thankfully now while we have many scientific remedies available, prayer remains a vital part of healing.
Pray on your needs, believe and you will soon be restored.

As I reflect, I envision God’s presence as a warm light flowing in and through me, renewing and restoring every cell of my being restoring my Total Wellbeing.

Part of healing is forgiving myself and others for any thoughts, words, or actions that caused hurt. Self Care Reflection in prayerful context make forgiveness possible. Thank you, God, for the renewing, healing power of prayer. ( To see more of America’s City of Fountains go to kcfountains.com. ) What do you think?

Mid-Summers-Night-Dream-Spanista-Style.jpegPINIMAGE

Dear Wellness Seekers,

Mid Summer Night’s Dream Spanista Style opens up a conversation about the benefits of a beautifully appointed place of slumber. Ahhh yes… the virtues of a wonderous night’s sleep in a welcoming bed. Your personal space of dreams. Mid Summer Nights are treasured gifts in the middle of the season. For those lucky to be close to a lake, river or ocean waters you welcome hearing the rhythmic sounds of waves lapping against a dock or a boat as a lullaby to sleep.

Setting a wonderful decorative bed that changes with the seasons can help you feel like a queen or a king of your castle who has the means to joyfully indulge in the best of slumber. Nothing is as restoring as quality sleep.

This summer I attended a Shakespeare in the Park theatrical performance of Mid Summer Night’s Dream that delighted me so I was struck with inspiration to expand on the entertaining classic theme by bringing it into my home. Doing some research online I came upon this colorful depiction of the story so rich in warm  hues that I immediately set out to recreate the loving feeling it evokes it in my master suite. Yes, let art inspire life for the moment.

So I set to visit my favorite design studio Nell Hills at Briarcliff Village in Kansas City and discovered this fashionable bespoke ensemble created by a designer. The range of hues so aligned with the photo I was captivated.  The modern graphic mix on a pure black and white canvas with contrasting of cool water blues and sunny oranges with a dash of floras bring nature into your boudoir. This sets the mood  to relax my mind, heart and soul as I seek to set the stage for many restful nights.

Mid Summer Night’s Dream Spanista Style sets the perfect tone in my Master Suite. Since re-creating this scene at home I find this room calling me so I find myself napping more and retiring early many summer nights with a great book of fiction – getting lost in the story in this ever so comfortable dream like setting  makes for luxurious dreams. Love the cool feel of the 750 count Egyptian cotton sheets against my skin during summer nights. It is what summer nights should be – luscious with Spanista Style Self Care.

Perhaps your bed could use a little Self Care Makeover? It can make ALL the difference in so many ways. If you are so inclined, please feel free to share your Mid Summer Night’s Dream Story.

Good-News-Monday:-3-Little-Things-Sparks-Emotional-Wellbeing.jpegPINIMAGE

Dear Wellness Seekers,

Good News Monday: 3 Little Things Sparks Emotional Wellbeing offers a musical high note for Spanista Fans. It is wonderful song by Jason Mraz I came across when I needed it most. A time recently when I lost a loved one who I treasured in my life as a source of love and support.

Jason Mraz’s delightfully optimistic song is full of Self Care wisdom that lifts the spirits and points a clear way forward any one can relate to. It is on my play list as a go to song when I need to set my heart, mind and body on a joyful course again. Today so many outside triggers do not seeing coming can flip you of course putting you out of sync with your Self Care Agenda. Music can be an easy way to set things right again.

Hope the lyrics to 3 Little Things move you like they move me!

There are three things I do when my life falls apart
Number one I cry my eyes out and I dry up my heart
Not until I do this will my new life start
So that’s the first thing that I do when my life falls apart

The second thing I do is I close both of my eyes
And say my thank you’s to each and every moment of my life
I go where I know the love is and let it fill me up inside
Gathering new strength from sorrow
I’m glad to feel alive.

And things are looking up
I know above the clouds the sun is shining
Things are looking up
Love is still the answer I’m relying on
Three little things

Things are looking up

Well the third thing that I do now when my world caves in
Is I pause, I take a breath and bow and I let the chapter end
I design my future bright not by where my life has been
And I try try try try, try again
Yes I try try try try, try again

Things are looking up
I know beyond the dark the sun is rising
Things are looking up
I know above the clouds the sun is shining
Things are looking up
Ooh, love is still the answer I’m relying on
Three little things
Three little things

Good News Monday: 3 Little Things Sparks Emotional Wellbeing can set the right tone for the week. Thought it would be an inspiring way to start the week on the right foot and give us an inspiring message to turn to when things get challenging. Yes, LOVE is the answer!
